Maine Lobster Festival (Harbor Park, Rockland; Continues Through Sunday, August 3) This world famous “original lobster festival” is one of New England's great summer events. Tons of steamed Maine lobsters served along with pageantry, waterfront activities, maritime displays and demonstrations, Maine arts and crafts, visits to Navy and Coast Guard ships, harbor cruises, contests, lots of wonderful entertainment, a giant parade, international lobster crate race, children's activities and much more. Northport Yacht Club Sailing School Instructor Auction Fundraiser (NYC Clubhouse; Approximately 7 PM, Following Races and Cookout) Come support the Sailing School's auction fundraiser. Each instructor will be donating a specific service (e.g., swim lessons, yard work, babysitting, kayak lessons, soccer lessons, etc.). There will also be a few items for auction. Always a fun event! Bayside Centennial Information Gala and Kick-Off Party (John and Bette Woolsey's Aroostook Cottage at 37 George Street; 4:30-7 PM) Come and mingle with friends while you learn out about the dates and details of many of the Centennial events for next summer and about our fundraising campaign. Northport Yacht Club Sailing School (NYC Clubhouse; Mon/Wed/Fri 9 AM) Weekly program offered Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings throughout the summer. All children 10 and older may participate for a week or for the whole summer. Swimming test is required for new students. There'll be a model yacht pond, live music, a children's area, exhibits, fine food, the running of the Annual World Championship Boatyard Dog Trials, and more!
