In the 19th century, Belfast area shipyards produced over 600 sailing vessels and 30% of the male population was engaged in maritime trades. This program is free and open to the public. 7/7/08 (Mon)                 Belfast Maskers 5th Annual Children's Theater Camp Starts (Belfast Maskers Theater; Through July 18) Mondays through Fridays, 9 AM until noon. The fifth year of this “highly successful, very reasonably priced theater experience for your child.” It culminates in a performance by the children. However, that is not the purpose of the camp, which is instead designed to build confidence, poise, positive body image, teamwork, and a sense of accomplishment in a safe and supportive environment. The children are encouraged to make their own artistic decisions through a collaborative process. Workshops to develop playwriting, acting, movement, sound, light, costume and makeup skills will be offered. Co-ed, ages 8-12.
