Minutes of NVC Special Meeting of August 12, 2003

President Ken Vlodek called a special meeting of the Board of Overseers of the Northport Village Corporation at 5:07 PM on August 12, 2003 . Overseers Rohweder, Krulis, Doucette, Closter, Crofoot, Treasurer Handler, and Clerk Lagner were present.

It has recently come to the attention of the president that the legislation enabling the vote at the Annual Meeting for/against a Bayside Utilities District does not take effect until September 13. Had the words “Emergency Legislation” been on the document, this would not have happened. Thus the vote may be invalid. A legal opinion has been sought, but opinions vary.

After discussion, Doucette moved, seconded by Rohweder, that the President be directed to recommend that the matter be tabled until an annual meeting any time after July 1, 2004 . Voted: yea 3, nay 2.
