December Snapshot

The NVC will be in full compliance of its discharge license in December.

There were no violations for the entire year 2007.

Maple Street Odor Complaint

The break a sewer lateral between Maple and Main and the source of odor complaints from residents in this area was located and repaired. This line also had to be Roto-rooted to cut out a root balls which was forcing wastewater to back up onto the ground from the broken lateral. A 4 inch clean out was installed to address future problems with lines and to eliminate the need for hand digging in this area. Moore ’s Septic assisted Mr. Paige with this repair. The NVC paid for the digging and the sewer line cleaning. Affected residents were billed for the pipe to make the repair.

Interim Funding Report No. 9 to Repair and Improve the NVC Sewer Treatment System has been sent.  Pursuant to the requirements of the August of 2003 Consent Agreement, this is the ninth of nine semi-annual letter reports updating the Department on the NVC’s efforts to find funding to improve its sewer collection system and wastewater treatment plant.  (Copy of the letter is attached to these minutes)
