Committees & Communications

	Next Selectmen's Meeting Monday, 2/2/04 at 8AM
	Burgess to run ad for committee assignments below.

CHAIR PERSONS & COMMITTEE MEMBERS WANTED FOR 2004

Re-Valuation Committee to visit findings and make recommendations for implementation

Committee to review draft of Administrative Ordinances

Review ZBA needs

Review Harbor Committee needs

Review Planning Board needs

Reestablish Land Use Ordinance Committee

Set up Conservation Committee

Set up Budget Committee

Review Waste Management Committee needs

Set up Parks & Recreation Committee

Set up Roads Committee to suggest work for 2004 (Roads Scholars Wanted)

Administrative

	Burgess set up meeting with Gallant to review of Administrative Ordinances document. Date 2/3 at 5PM
	Eric Galant to work with ZBA on developing their procedures.
	New phone system has been installed at Town Office.
	Lindahl to try to attend Waldo County Selectmen's Assoc. meeting 1/29

Transfer Station Committee

	Committee met with CES Inc. Proposal is in. $4,600 for review of operation.
	TRAINING was completed for Don & his crew on Friday 1/23/04 on handling universal household waste.

Roads & Bridges

	Status? Issue regarding additional funding of drainage work which was undertaken on Shore Road .
	Fancy/Lynch to address repairs to Birchcrest Road . Put on "punch list."

Financial

March--Auditors to be here. Selectmen to be available.

Policy Decisions & Administration & Miscellaneous

	Burgess still needs to follow up. Paul Nyren of 779 Shore Road is developing a lot or two in Birchcrest. He requested permission to put steps down to the water utilizing a town ROW at the end to Summit Ave. in Birchcrest at his expense. Attorney to review ramifications of above request (338-0066).
	Lindahl doing some calling & research on internet options.

Code Enforcement, Planning & Permits

ZBA should have a copy of flow chart re: planning process. Chart might be a little more user friendly?

Some issues with Armstrong property. CEO to up date 2/2.

Legal & Other Issues

Town Attorney Kelly to review procedures and jurisdictional issues with NVC attorney

Kelly to study ramifications of dissolving Fire Department Corporation and restructuring reporting relationship.

Real Estate Assessors Functions, Tax Policy and Liens & Collections

Our Re-Val to be complete by April.

Harbors & Waterways

	Harbor Master's recommendations reviewed and approved.
	Public Hearings set for 2/19/04 at Drinkwater School
	Issue on changes to Harbor Ordinance discussed. Lindahl to contact Kelly, Burgess to contact Galant, and Rooney to contact MMA for reading. Ideally, we would like to make a decision at 2/2/04 meeting.

Fire, Health & Public Safety

Selectmen are requesting Bill Kelly (Town Attorney) review implications of dissolving Fire Department Corporation and to have the department come under the town with the chief reporting directly to the selectmen, thereby improving the chain of command.

Bayside Village

Status?? Jurisdictional issue/procedural issue. Kelly to follow up.
