The Moving Wall (Knox Museum, Thomaston; 24 Hours/Day) Knox Museum will host the Vietnam Combat Veterans' The Moving Wall, a half-scale replica of Maya Lin's original design located on the National Mall in Washington, DC. Visiting hours will be 24 hours per day, except during special ceremonies. Admission is free, and all are encouraged to attend. This will be its first appearance in midcoast Maine. Come Boating! Launch Day & Nautical Yard Sale (Boat Shed at the Belfast Public Landing; 9 AM-2 PM) Rain Date: May 29. Come Boating! kicks off its season, with refreshments and information about its free community rowing program. Trained coxswains will be on hand from 11 AM to 2 PM to take visitors out for a row on a 32-foot Cornish pilot gig. Also, the organization's annual "All Things Nautical" Yard Sale, with great deals on many items, will take place between 9 AM and 2 PM. All proceeds of the sale will benefit Come Boating!, which offers free community rowing throughout the summer and early fall. If you have any nautical equipment, boat accessories, life jackets, paddles, foul weather gear, nautical books, crafts, collectibles, art, charts, or small boats you'd like to contribute, please contact Carol Kuhn at 207-322-3090. History Comes Alive (Owl's Head Transportation Museum, Owl's Head; 9 AM-3 PM) Dust off your pre-1996 vehicle and join us as we kick off the 2016 car show season! We'll demonstrate as many pieces from our ground vehicle collection as we can squeeze into one weekend in an attempt to beat our 2015 record of more than 75 ground vehicles demonstrated during this event! The first antique aeroplane show of the 2016 season will dazzle visitors as our 1917 Curtiss Jenny makes its public return to the sky. Model T rides, free family activities and more will be offered.
