Bayside Historical Preservation Society

The Bayside Historical Preservation Society (BHPS) was founded in 1995 with a mission to promote interest in the history of the Bayside community as well as preserve that history for future generations.  The BHPS has done an amazing job preserving and cataloging Bayside’s history, including a library of oral histories and “Bayside Story” videos.  Visit the collection and learn more on the BHPS website here.

Northport Yacht Club

Possibly best known for its awesome summer sailing school program for kids from 9 to 18, the mission of the Northport Yacht Club is:

  • To encourage the sport of boating and sailing;
  • To promote the science of seamanship and navigation;
  • To be a community service club and to provide members with an opportunity to participate in a variety of boating and/or social activities; and
  • To provide and maintain a suitable clubhouse and anchorage for recreation and use by its members.

The Northport Yacht Club (NYC) is much more than a club for boaters and boat owners.  The club has always taken the fulfillment of the social aspects of its charter directives seriously, and many of the events that take place in Bayside throughout the summer are sponsored by the NYC.  Visit the NYC website here.

Bayside Arts

Bayside Arts produces a yearly series of programs and exhibitions in Bayside’s Community Hall for summer residents and visitors to Bayside and the surrounding communities. Programs include music, plays, lectures, readings, dance and other programs of interest to the Bayside community. Bayside Arts also schedules summer exhibitions consisting of fine art or other material. A six-week series of art classes for kids has been a popular offering. Visit the Bayside Arts website here.
